This new DC Comics show, set in the same universe as The Flash, follows Jefferson Pierce, aka Black Lightning. The series is based on the character created by Tony Isabella and is set in an African American community in a fictional city. Black Lightning is a superhero who works as a police officer and fights crime in the streets.
